Scope
This Cookie Policy applies to the website withavelis.com and all related sub-pages (the "Website"), operated by Avelis Technologies UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Winterhuder Weg 29, 22085 Hamburg, Germany ("we" or "us").
It explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on our Website, the purposes for which we use them, and how you can manage your cookie preferences. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet or similar) when you visit our Website. They allow your device to be recognised on a return visit and to store certain settings or information.
Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third parties whose services we integrate into our Website (third-party cookies). Depending on their lifetime, we distinguish between:
- Session cookies: automatically deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies: remain on your device for a defined period, even after you close your browser.
Similar technologies
In addition to cookies, we use further similar technologies:
- Web beacons / tracking pixels: tiny, invisible graphics embedded in web pages or emails that transmit information such as the time and frequency of access.
- Local storage / session storage: browser-based storage mechanisms with similar functions to cookies but capable of holding larger amounts of data.
- Fingerprinting: technical characteristics of your browser and device that may be used for identification. We do not employ active fingerprinting.
The rules set out in this Policy apply mutatis mutandis to these similar technologies.
Legal bases
The use of cookies on end devices in Germany is governed by § 25 of the Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG):
- Technically necessary cookies: may be set without consent (§ 25(2) No. 2 TTDSG) where they are used solely to transmit a communication or to provide a service explicitly requested by the user.
- All other cookies (functional, analytical, marketing): may only be set with your prior, freely given, informed and unambiguous consent (§ 25(1) TTDSG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
We obtain your consent via our cookie banner, which appears on your first visit to our Website.

WhatsApp support button (no cookies). The floating "WhatsApp support" button on our Website loads no third-party script and sets no cookies. Nothing is transmitted until you fill in the short pre-chat form and actively confirm; only then is WhatsApp opened with a pre-filled message. Details of that processing are described in our Privacy Policy.
5.2 Functional cookies
Functional cookies enable enhanced features and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have integrated. If you do not allow these cookies, some or all of these features may not work properly. Consent required (§ 25(1) TTDSG).

Plausible Analytics (cookieless). We also use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly web analytics service provided by Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia, EU), with all data processed and stored on servers within the European Union. Plausible does not set any cookies, does not use browser fingerprinting and does not collect or store any personal data or cross-site identifiers. It only records aggregated metrics such as page URL, referrer, device type, browser, operating system and country (derived from the IP address, which is never stored). Because Plausible stores no information on your device, no technical storage consent under § 25 TTDSG is strictly required; nevertheless we only load the Plausible script after you have accepted the "Analytics" category in our cookie banner. If you withdraw that consent, the script is removed and no further measurement takes place.
5.4 Marketing and advertising cookies
Marketing cookies are used to show visitors relevant advertisements and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. They may be set by advertising partners and are used to build a profile of your interests. Consent required (§ 25(1) TTDSG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
